For those that do not know, on March 30, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now before you react like most people when they hear the "C" word, it is not as bad as it sounds. I have what they call ductal carcinoma insitus. We visited with the surgeon this last Tuesday and she was "totally underwhelmed" with my cancer. It is at Stage 0, which means that the cancer is at the very beginning stages. In fact, the radiologist, that found the cancer, did an excellent job according to the surgeon.
What do we do now? Well, I had genetic testing done on Friday and now we wait. If the tests come back negative, meaning that I do not have any gene mutations, then we will more than likely do a lumpectomy and radiation treatment (not chemotherapy). If it comes back positive, then we may be looking at other options. Either way, it is good and proves that we are in God's controlling hand.
Through your mighty prayers, I am uplifted and our family is reassured. We ask that you continue your mightly prayers that the test results will be negative and that this cancer will not take ahold of our life. God is in control and He is good ALL THE TIME!!!!!

FCCLA State Leadership Meeting
At the FCCLA State Leadership Meeting in Houston April 14-16, Jessica received State Vice President Public Relations. Donna received Master Advisor. We also had one STAR Event competitor placed 4th and one competitor placed 1st and will be going to Anaheim with the family this summer for the National Leadership Conference. All in all, the meeting was a success and a threshold for the upcoming year.
