Yesterday was my roughest day thus far. They placed the balloon in the affected area with seven wires sticking out to receive the radiation. Although I slept through the procedure, it was very painful when I woke. Pain medication soon became my best friend and helped me sleep through the night. Today was much better. We took more CAT Scans today to determine whether the balloon was placed correctly. Forunately, it was and I had my first radiation treatment this afternoon. One down......nine to go. We go in first thing in the morning for another CAT Scan to make sure everything is going well and then hopefully more treatments. We appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, food and visits. God has blessed us with many friends and family to encourage us and continue to lift us up during this time.

Well, much has happened over the last month. First, Jessica completed her Junior year and is now, officially, a SENIOR!! A funny thing is Jennifer will also be a Senior after this summer session. However, Jessica will graduate next May, while Jennifer will graduate May, 2013.
Last week, Jessica and I attended the FCCLA Officer Leadership Training week in Navasota. It was such a good week. The officers planned the State and Region Meetings. Our theme for next year is Highway to Success. The week was filled with renewing friendships, while making new ones. This was Jessica's last Officer Training as an officer. After four years, it was a little emotional for her, but she really didn't have time to ponder this, as she prepared Saturday to go to Girls State at Seguin. So early Sunday morning (4:00 am), we placed Jessica on a bus with 12 other girls. She called that night and said that everything was going very well.
Today, I had my procedure done. Our dear friends, Steve and Connie, came to sit with Elven. It was fabulous knowing that Elven was taken care of while I was doing my thing. The procedure went very well. There were no complications and we were finished in about an hour and a half. I was feeling so good that we went to eat lunch afterwards and did very light shopping (10 minutes). I slept very well afterwards. I start my radiation Wednesday first thing in the morning. Hopefully everything will go as smooth as it did today. Thank you all for all the thoughts and prayers.
