The Corder Family Update for the Week of May 9-14, 2011

This last week was an exciting week in the Corder Family.  First of all, on Monday, Jessica had an interview to attend Girl's State.  This is sponsored by the American Legion and will take place in Sequin, around Austin, on June 12-18.  She was a little nervous about the interview because it was the typical interview.  Another girl was there at the same time and I sat in on it and was asked questions as well.  So, we didn't knoow what to expect.  However, later that night, she received a phone call and was accepted to attend Girl's State.  She was very excited.

Tuesday morning, we awoke to the shock that the suburban was broken into.  They didn't take much.  We thought the GPS was gone, but for some reason they left the charger in the back seat on top of Jessica's interview suit and the GPS on top of the car.  However, they did take my most valuable cassette tapes from high school (I had the majority of them on cd's) and Jessica's dance bag.  The dance bag was probably the most expensive item since it has six of her dance shoes that she needs for her recital in a week.  We reported it and the police officer was very helpful.

Wednesday, we received news from the realtor that we have a very strong potential buyer.  We will see what the bank says.

Thursday was my big day at the doctor's office.  All the Genetics's tests came back negative.  Yippee!!!!  So, no mutations in my genes.  We scheduled my procedure (yes, NO SURGERY) on Monday, June 13.  It will be done in the office with a local, followed by 5 days of radiation.  We are very excited.  Good news all around.

Friday, Jennifer moved out of the dorm for a week.  She will be moving into a different dorm in a week to work her summer job of dorm assistant for the summer camps at Texas Tech.

Finally, we were able to spend Saturday with our good friends, Tracy and Pam Sherman.  We received an added surprise with Katy showing up as well.  We had a great time!  We even spent time with the Wood family as well.  Overall it was a great weekend that didn't last very long.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  We ask for your continued prayers for us and our adventure.  We know that God has great plans for us and we are grateful for all the many blessings that He has bestowed on us.  May God bless us all.
